As with many schools, the number of children with English as an additional language (EAL) or whose home language is not English is increasing. We now have 26 children speaking 12 languages. These are:

Amharic; Arabic; Bengali; Chinese; Greek; Panjabi; Pashto; Polish; Portugese; Romanian; Turkish; Urdu

The school has received support and advice from advisers from the local authority. We have an induction process which ensures that children who are new to the country or who are at the early stages of learning English are supported appropriately. Mrs knowles is the key worker for pupils with EAL.
